I’m honestly kind of disappointed by the lack of Greek folk metal bands.
I saw Turisas at Paganfest last night. Not only was it one of the best experiences of my life, but I threw the devil horns at Jesper at one point and he pointed at me in return.

People in the folk metal community, the musicians and their fans, have given me the support and the respect I never got at home. I’ve realized that I can be safe, and happy, and independent. No words can describe how much I owe all of these people. There’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I think I’m going to make it.

RE: #459 Hanging out doesn’t always mean getting along, and sometimes it means getting along very well (there have been and are many inter-folk band relationships). When you’re behind a camera you learn to check before putting anything live that may reveal personal lives. These musicians are friends, not just photography subjects.
Huldre is pretty underrated and deserves more love!

Basically someone called him Teemu Manta Ray as a joke (probably because it’s close to Mäntysaari) and a lot of people liked it, so they kept it going.
Here’s where it all began: /post/77703680279
Saw Turisas the day before yesterday and it was absolutely magical. One of the best days of my life, hands down. And the fact that they have some good memories regarding the last time they were in Lithuania makes me extremely happy! I sincerely love them.

Anonymous said:Do you mind me asking why there's always such a long break between bunches of confessions being posted? I mean, I know you all have more important things to do, and it's not something that bothers me every moment I'm awake, I'm just curious :) Apart from that, keep up the good work! Seriously, this is one of the best-run confession blogs on Tumblr.
Thank you for the compliment!
And the long breaks are because of two reasons: (1) as you said I have other stuff to take care and (2) I get tired of being here too often, because even though a lot of people send nice messages and really enjoy the blog, there are a bunch of others who don’t appreciate it, and instead of simply blocking the blog they decide to never shut up about it being stupid. It’s not like it makes me want to shut down the page, it just gets really boring to see people acting all superior about something this simple.
But, well, I’m back again now. :)
I don’t know if musicians realise how much their tiniest actions can mean to us. Not too long ago I saw Turisas live for the first time and they have this one song that makes me really sad, because it reminds me of someone — so when they started playing it… I started crying. And then Mathias smiled to me. I feel silly for giving so much importance to this, but I can’t help it. I was crying and he smiled and changed everything.

One thing I love is how so many of the musicians in this genre seem to be friends with each other. At least when it comes to those most famous bands you can easily find pictures of the members hanging out. Now I wonder why I’ve never seem pictures of the members of Eluveitie hanging out with other folk metal bands… I mean, they went on tour with some bands, so it’s not like they had no chance to bond…
I love Vreth’s beard.

Every time I see one of the confession-subjects drinking in Helsinki, I want to show them this Tumblr. Too much of Tumblr is dedicated to their ass and marriage prospects, whereas this one is something more likely to make them smile. :)

- If you ever do that, please let us know how it went!
After getting into Ensiferum and Wintersun, I began to realise how much a friend of mine looks like a female version of Jari Mäenpää. It seriously weirds me out sometimes.
Whenever I’m having a stressful day, I just slip off to somewhere quiet and listen to ‘When Time Fades Away’. It calms me down and makes me feel better almost instantly.
I started listening to Eluveitie because of the women. I stayed for so much more. This music is my heart and soul, my guide and my destiny.
